Student Enrollment in Moodle Courses

Students who are registered in the class in knack are automatically added to the Moodle. Moodle course registration are updated automatically each hour with enrollment data from Knack.

Here is the registration link : bluecrest.edu.gh/registration

Student Access to Moodle

To access a course in Moodle, students must:

Be registered in Knack by filling the registration form in Moodle for the semester.

Log in to Moodle using their school email or roll number as (username) and password (see note below).

Moodle URL: moodle.bluecrest.edu.gh

Username : Official BCC email or Student ID  ( eg. [email protected] or [email protected] or 30sfd301111)

Password :  Moodle@123 (this is the default password for all students)

Note: students who register for the semester would have their Moodle Account activated and courses assigned for the semester. They would then receive a confirmation email of successful registration and enrolment. The confirmation email would be sent to their official blueCrest email.

Log in to Moodle and Find Your Courses

Students should log in to Moodle using their school email/roll number (username and password) as described above.  When they have logged in, the Moodle dashboard opens. A list of Moodle courses is visible in the "My courses block" (on the main page) and in the Navigation Tray (left). To open the Moodle course page, select a Moodle course from the list.

A student may not see a Moodle course in the list if:

The student has not made the down payment (GHS 1,000 for local students and $ 500 for foreign students).

They will be able to log in to Moodle but will not see any courses listed under "My courses".

Moodle courses may be hidden from students until the instructor releases them. Most Moodle courses are automatically released to students one business day prior to the first day of classes. However, Moodle gives instructors the ability to hide or show their courses outside of the institutional schedule. Instructors can hide courses that are not ready for use, or open courses prior to the beginning of the semester.

Troubleshooting Tips

There are a few possible situations that could cause a student who is registered for a course  to be unable to access the course in Moodle:

  • There may be up to a 24 hour delay between when a student registers for a course and when that student can access the Moodle course.
  • Students must have an active IT log in to Moodle and duly register by filling the registration form (bluecrest.edu.gh/registration) after payment of of fees.

Access to a Moodle course for an Incomplete or Independent Study

If an instructor wishes to provide access to a Moodle course from a previous semester in order for a student to fulfill requirements for an Incomplete, they can assign them a special role in the course that provides access to the closed course. See Assign Roles to Individuals in Your Moodle Course.

If an instructor wishes to provide access to a current Moodle course in order for a student to fulfill requirements for an Independent Study, the instructor must complete the Request Contributor Access to Moodle form.

Remember, Courses offered through previous semesters are in Old moodle.
